The Lily Foundation - Fighting for Hope!

During the last week of August, Leap29 was touched by a charity that are dedicated to supporting children with mitochondrial disease. Based on a personal situation of one of our employees Leap29 staff all pulled together to raise awareness, and give back to the charity for all the help that they provide to families.

Throughout the week events such as the 'Archery Challenge', 'Cracker Challenge' and 'World Food Day' helped to raise funds of over £400 boosting the total raised for the Lily Foundation to over £1,000.

The Lily Foundation is committed to finding a cure for Mitochondrial Disease through funding research, raising awareness and family support. Mitochondrial Disease is a very rare condition, and there are currently very few effective treatments and no cure available for Mitochondrial Disease. The Lily Foundation was founded in October 2007, by Lily's family. Lily's uncle Jonathan Pearce believed that Lily's short life had a purpose, and could make a difference to other families.

A fantastic effort by all who took part and got involved with this amazing charity! To find our more about the fantastic work of the Lily Foundation, click here.
