Development Manager UK Solar Portfolios - London, United Kingdom

Leap29 have a fantastic opportunity which is available, on behalf of a leading solar energy and storage company, who are active through the full project lifecycle, from development through to construction and then operations and asset management. This company is the projects division of a reputable Investment bank, and the company have a team of some of the most highly experienced professionals in the business.

Our client are dedicated on being a market leader with a reputation of delivering high quality assets as well as the solution to achieving a net-zero future. The team possess a skillset from all stages of the project lifecycle.
The position will be focused on UK Renewable Energy project development and will have an initial focus on solar energy. The position will work closely with development partners and you will coordinate the delivery of projects from early stages of development through to financial close. You will be responsible for ensuring that a high level of standards and policies are incorporated into all of the projects and you will be the day to day point of contact.

The Development Manager position will oversee management of a pipeline of projects and you will be responsible for reporting, budget monitoring, information flow to board members and other stakeholders, and ensuring compliance with policies, approvals and corporate governance.

A core responsibility for the Development Manager role will be working and liaising with partners, contractors, external consultant, project stakeholders such as government entities, landowners and local council and as a result, a high level of communication skills will be needed.

This position will also see you providing input into project acquisitions and coordinating due-diligence on new opportunities. You will need to provide an input into the financial close phase of development.

Core requirements:
• 5+ years of project development experience for renewable energy projects for the UK market and a good understanding of the planning process.
• A high technical understanding of development and environmental issues and the ability to assess projects, characteristics and risks.
• A relevant university degree, with qualifications in environmental science, engineering or finance is preferred as well as project management experience/qualifications.
